Technology in the Classroom
The School and District budgets are often stretched to cover even the essentials. Mt. Scott PTO realizes the importance technology plays in our childrens’ lives today and tomorrow. Technology tools are needed to enhance learning, collaboration and integration. Technology in the classroom can help students become better information seekers, problem solvers and decision-makers. Over the past 2 years, we have been able to fund 2 ChromeCarts and 60 new Chromebooks for our students. With this year's purchase, all grades levels now have a ChromeCart to share.

Each year, the PTO sponsors and arranges a variety of performances for students. With a focus on the arts, sport and science, past assemblies include: African drummers, semi-professional sports teams and theatre groups. This year we brought in W.E.C.A.R.E Sports, a local company that specializes in educational and fun games. The kids had such an amazing week with Mag. We ended the week with a Family Fun Night, the students were able to show all the skills that they had learned over the week.

Teacher Stipends
Each year teachers and staff spend hundreds of dollars of their own money on classroom supplies.  The PTO offers each teacher a yearly stipend to help offset expenses not covered by the district.

Staff Appreciation
The PTO oversees several staff appreciation events, including Back to School luncheon, Fall & Spring conference luncheons, and Staff appreciation week luncheon (May)

The Mount Scott Yearbook is generally completed in March and distributed in June to all students who purchase one.  PTO volunteers help take, collect and organize photos throughout the year; and work with the publisher to produce a heart-felt record or our students’ achievements, activities, friends and teachers.
